A common type of motorcycle nitrous kit that is used for various motorcycles is the dry kit. This type of kit works in that it works with nitrous to get fuel to be sent to the motorcycle's engine so that it can work at a greater level of power.

In a kit the nitrous oxide that is used for the set is sprayed into through the air intake. When the nitrous oxide goes through the set the material will turn into a gas. The nitrous will be metered by a series of tuning jets. This kit gets its dry name in that unlike with a wet nitrous kit fuel is not used in the air charge.

As the vehicle's fuel injection system will work to supply a greater amount of fuel into the engine. This will be used to help with getting the power of the engine to become increased for a period of time. As the fuel comes into the system the nitrous oxide will work to create the additional level of power that it needs to work properly.

The main reason as to why the fuel injection system will work in this way is because of how it will get the nitrous to move past the mass airflow sensor in the motorcycle. This will give the sensor the message that additional fuel is needed for the engine because the air has become dense and cold.

Thanks to the increase in fuel for the engine and the nitrous oxide that will work to get the fuel to be burned off properly the amount of horsepower that is created by the engine will increase. The motorcycle will work at a more powerful level as a result.
