Ryan Sheckler is a professional skateboarder, reality TV star, philanthropist, entrepreneur and actor. As if those accomplishments aren't impressive enough on their own, what's truly amazing is that he wasn't even born until December 30, 1989, which means that his adult life is just getting started!

Ryan began his journey to becoming a professional skater when he was just eighteen months old. In his hometown of San Clemente, California, he got on the skateboard of his father, Randy Sheckler. From that point on, Ryan was hooked on skating. After playing with his dad's skateboard for several years, Ryan received a board of his own on Christmas morning in 1993. Because skating continued to be such a major part of his life, at the age of seven, his parents built a mini-ramp for him in the family's backyard.

At the age of ten, Sheckler started competing in events across the United States. Over the course of three years, he either won or was runner-up in the U.S. Open of Skateboarding, the Vans Warped Tour, the California Amateur Skateboard League State Championship, the Gravity Games Amateur Challenge and the Globe World Cup. Thanks to his incredible list of accomplishments, he successfully became a professional skater at the age of thirteen.

After becoming a pro, his list of accomplishments continued to grow. In addition to winning three consecutive AST Championships, he was named athlete of the year by both the World Cup of Skateboarding and the Arby's Action Sports Awards.

As a result of his growing popularity, especially among awestruck teenage girls, MTV decided to give Ryan his own reality show. In 2007, Ryan became a reality TV star with his hit show, "Life of Ryan." The show gave viewers a look at Ryan dealing with balancing his career, family, friends, and of course, his love life. Viewers got to watch him hanging out with his two brothers, Shane and Kane, as well as dealing with the recent divorce of his parents, Randy and Gretchen. The show also highlighted his tight-knit group of friends, which included Tony, Casey and Taylor.

The show aired twenty-three episodes over the course of two successful seasons. While the show came to an end, Ryan's life only got busier. In 2008, he launched his own charity, the Sheckler Foundation. In 2009, he used his entrepreneurial talents to launch his own clothing line, RS. And in 2010, not only did he have a role in the hit Disney movie, Tooth Fairy, but he also won a Skateboarding Street gold medal at X Games 16.

Although he has already accomplished so much, thanks to his work ethic and passion for the sport of skateboarding, the future continues to look very bright for this talented young athlete!
