Crafting A First-Class Athletic Field With Quality Bleachers

The blow of a bat, the roar of the crowd, the dash of the soccer ball, the "swish" of the basketball...these are all sounds that will create a smile to any sports addict's face (whether it's little league, high school, college or professional).

Visualize, however, that you listen to these sounds while standing up (or worse yet, sitting on the itchy grass!). No matter which sport you enjoy most, no game takes less than an hour - and no one wants to stand, or sit on grass, for an hour or more!

Having quality bleachers is essential to creating a top notch athletic field, and ensuring more people attend your games (with their pockets full of entrance fee and snack money!). The decision of which bleachers to get seems daunting, but it doesn't need to be.

Once upon a time, bleachers used to be made of wooden boards which, being left exposed and open to the elements were washed-out by the sun - hence the name, which has been in use since the early 1900's.

For genuine team spirit, most recent bleachers are now created from steel or aluminum, and several can be made-to-order with colored seating. There are distinct designs to pick from, depending on your needs. Aluminon Tip n' Roll bleachers are idyllic for transitory seating especially for indoor seating, or small spaces, since they are easily turned over their swivel casters for movement, permitting them to be kept quickly and easily. Rubber foot pads are also included, ensuring floors are protected from scratching.

Non-elevated bleachers sit lower from the ground for supplementary safety, and are smaller in size, making them ideal for smaller athletic fields. Available with 3, 4 or 5 rows, these bleachers are still large enough to seat up to 80 sports fans! With the adding up of the transport kit, portable non-elevated models are also a great alternative, these 5 or 10 row bleachers can be moved with no trouble across grass, and can seat up to 160 people.

For football or soccer fields, where larger seating is needed, elevated bleachers are the ideal solution. These seating systems include guardrails, aisles with handrails, entry stairs, and aluminum seat, foot and riser planks, besides a number of elevation heights. They are designed to seat up to 500 people (or more!) depending on your needs.

It is always possible to custom design and fabricate distinct sizes and arrangements to suit seating specifications and site restraints. When ordering bleachers, it is important to check local requirements for such things as aisles, guardrails, ADA, or other conditions. Before getting any bleachers, check building codes, as building codes differ by year written and by issuing group.

Early Age Thermal Cracking in Concrete Structures

Early Age Thermal Cracking in Concrete Structures

$180.02

In this book has been shown that the early age thermal cracking in concrete structures resulted from either internal restraint caused by differential expansion within concrete member during heating due to larger temperatures gradient between the core, and that the adjacent media or by external restraint to contract on cooling from a temperature peak of the concrete specimen are the critical factors in developing early age thermal cracking. It has been found that the temperature differential that causes early age thermal cracking in concrete is greater than that figure found in previous research. Other factors influencing the development of the thermal cracking were investigated and recommendations on controlling the early age thermal cracking are given. The experimental technique carried out in this research investigation is an improvement on the past research on the early age cracking and the effects of internal and external restraints were studied. Further methods of assessing the risk of the early age thermal cracking in mass concrete under natural environmental conditions developed and the results are compared with those under laboratory conditions. TimeDependent Effect on Concrete Slab

TimeDependent Effect on Concrete Slab

$159.32

This book introduces analytical methods to investigate the influence of material properties, construction sequence, and timedependent effect on the performance of concrete flat slab systems. Emphasis was placed on implementation of material constitutive model, cracking, and deflection of slabs under service load conditions. In order to investigate the early age effect of concrete, an experimental program was performed for oneway reinforced concrete slab. Results of this study help to provide recommendations for improved design of concrete slab systems. The UMAT defined in ABAQUS/Standard is used to idealize material behavior. Timedependent effects are implemented along with tension stiffening models. Laboratory tests on nine simply supported oneway reinforced concrete members subjected to sustained load was performed. The test results demonstrated the effect of shrinkage restraint provided by embedded bars on the flexural cracking of the specimens under applied load, as well as effects of early age loading on timedependent response. Repair of Concrete Structures to EN 1504

Repair of Concrete Structures to EN 1504

$87.95

Originally published by the Danish Standards Institute, this guide for the EN 1504-standards addresses the principles and methods that form the basis of the choice of repair materials and systems for rehabilitation of damaged concrete structures. The introduction of these standards not only applies a common set of values for the industry but also relate to the current drive to improve supply chain integration and to increase the value specialist input to projects in the early design stages, when it can be most beneficial. The book guides the reader through the EN 1504 series giving practical guidelines and examples to the main principles of the standards. It also gives concise explanatory notes to the annexes, which will help any professional in the building and construction industry fulfill the requirements for repairing concrete. Guide to the EN 1504 Standards Addresses the principles and methods of concrete repair Deals with practical conditions to help the reader understand and fulfill the requirments.

Fatigue Analysis of Concrete Structures

Fatigue Analysis of Concrete Structures

$111.53

Progressive, permanent structural damage occurs in plain concrete when subjected to time fluctuating stresses and strains. This fatigue process has been under investigation since about the early twentieth century. Investigations of repeated loads, static loads, fracture mechanics, effect of time rate of applied stress, range of applied load, effect of rest period, mechanisms of fatigue failure and damage model etc are discussed briefly in this book. Cycle counting algorithm as well as SN curve approach is used to estimate the fatigue life. A study on load sequencing effect is provided, numerical simulations shows that the transition from low to high stress levels are more damaging than transitions from high to low stress levels. The present state and limitation of the knowledge in this field are discussed along with the areas for potentially fruitful research. Testing, Modelling and Engineering of Young Concrete (Hardcover)

Testing, Modelling and Engineering of Young Concrete (Hardcover)

$187.9

The book contains an overview and description of the main issues that go along with the hardening process of early age concrete.  The book contains 9 chapters which, in general terms, reflect the main results deduced from work done by the authors in collaboration with their PhD students. The purpose of the work is to provide researchers and PhD students a general basis of knowledge in the field of hardening concrete and to bridge the gap between academic research results and applicability in practice. The book is intended for academic students and practitioners.

The Rose That Grew from Concrete (Hardcover)

The Rose That Grew from Concrete (Hardcover)

$30.72

By the time of his murder at the age of 25, Tupac Shakur was a major force in rap music, with a dozen albums and six movies under his belt. But this collection of poems, written in a poetry workshop by the future star at the age of 19, shows that Shakur possessed both a poet`s disarming simplicity and a writer`s raw talent well before the start of his musical career. THE ROSE THAT GREW FROM CONCRETE is a collection of over 100 poems, included both in their original manuscript form (charmingly annotated with assorted hieroglyphics, much like a Prince lyric sheet) and in print. Themes preoccupying the embryonic rapper swing between the gritty evocations of life in the projects that would later become familiar to his fans worldwide, and meditations on topics as diverse as marriage and Nelson Mandela. Perhaps most poignant is "In the Event of My Demise," an eerily prescient reflection on early death that includes the hope that he`ll at least die "for a principle or a belief...."
