Lightweight Camping and Stock Equipment $33.79 Customer interest has led to a wide array of low impact, lightweight, durable outdoor equipment. Manufacturers of camp and stock equipment provide outdoor enthusiasts with a large selection of products. Choosing the best equipment may be a confusing task because of the numerous styles, materials, manufacturers, and prices. Equipment must be adequate for the intended purpose, be environmentally appropriate, and be affordable. This guide highlights some of the products available for wellrun wilderness camps and stock operations. A basic premise of lowimpact recreation is the need to reduce the number of stock required to support an activity. The ability of humans and pack animals to carry equipment or supplies is generally limited by bulk and weight. Comparatively light equipment that disassembles or collapses can significantly reduce the impact associated with transportation. This guide is organized into two sections camping equipment and stock equipment. Each chapter has general product information, safety and use tips, and advantages or disadvantages of the various materials and technology available. Author: US Forest Service/ U. S. Layout and Equipment of Playgrounds $44.79 Layout and Equipment of Playgrounds 1921 TABLE OF CONTENTS Chapter Page I. GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS ............ 5 IN preparing this handbook on the layout and equipment of playgrounds, the Playground and Recreation Association of America has attempted to bring together the information which has been issued in pamphlets and other publications, and to make it available for ready use in one hand book. Stressing the subject of equipment in this manner in no way minimizes the importance of leadership. Apparatus does not comprise a playground without leadership, equipment is worse than useless. When properly used, however, it stimulates desirable motor activities, and provides channels for play which are exceedingly valuable. For this reason, it is worthy of careful consideration........... Broadband Equipment and Services in China $195 How to Strategically Evaluate China. Perhaps the most efficient way of evaluating China is to consider key dimensions which themselves are composites of multiple factors. Composite portfolio approaches have long been used by strategic planners. The biggest challenge in this approach is to choose the appropriate factors that are the most relevant to international planning. The two measures of greatest relevance to broadband equipment and services are “latent demand” and “market accessibility”. The figure below summarizes the key dimensions and recommendations of such an approach. Using these two composites, one can prioritize all countries of the world. Countries of high latent demand and high relative accessibility (e.g. easier entry for one firm compared to other firms) are given highest priority. The figure below shows two different scenarios. Accessibility is defined as a firm’s ease of entering or supplying from or to a market (the “supply side”), and latent demand is an indicator of the potential in serving from or to the market (the “demand side”). Framework for Prioritizing Countries. Demand/Market Potential Driven Firm. Relative Accessibility. Accessibility/Supply Averse Firm. In the top figure, the firm is driven by market potential, whereas the bottom figure represents a firm that is driven by costs or by an aversion to difficult markets. This report treats the reader as coming from a “generic firm” approaching the global market – neither a market-driven nor a cost-driven company. Planners must therefore augment this report with their own company-specific factors that might change the priorities (e.g. a Canadian firm may have higher accessibility in Canada than a German firm). Latent Demand and Accessibility in China. This report provides a detailed overview of factors driving latent demand and accessibility for broadband equipment and services in China. Latent demand is largely driven by economic fundamentals specific to broadband equipment and services. This topic is discussed in Chapter 2 using work carried out in China on behalf of American firms and authored by the United States government (typically commercial attachés or similar persons in local offices of the U.S. Department of State). I have included a number of edits to clarify the information provided. Latent demand only represents half of the picture. Chapter 2 also deals with micro-accessibility for broadband equipment and services in China. I use the term “micro” since the discussion is focused specifically on broadband equipment and services. Chapter 3 deals with macro-accessibility and covers factors that go beyond broadband equipment and services. A country may at first sight appear to be attractive due to a high latent demand, but it is often less attractive when one considers at the macro level how easy it might be to serve that entire potential and/or general business risks. The World Market for Articles and Equipment for General Physical Exercise, Gymnastics, or Athletics $325 This report was created for strategic planners, international executives and import/export managers who are concerned with the market for writing, drawing, and other inks excluding printing ink. With the globalization of this market, managers can no longer be contented with a local view. Nor can managers be contented with out-of-date statistics that appear several years after the fact. I have developed a methodology, based on macroeconomic and trade models, to estimate the market for writing, drawing, and other inks excluding printing ink for those countries serving the world market via exports or supplying from various countries via imports. I do so for the current year based on a variety of key historical indicators and econometric models. |
