Marble Flooring in India – Advantages and Drawbacks
For interior and exterior flooring, marble is a prominent stone as it has great aesthetic appeal. Marble stone has some qualities which make it suitable for not only affluent people but also folks who would like to enjoy the benefits that come with it. Marble is a very durable stone and this is best reflected by the timeless enduring glow of the Taj Mahal.
Marble stones come in various colors which offer a very wide variety for you to choose from. Marble flooring in India is done through turning raw extracted marble into blocks, slabs, tiles of colors like blue, black, white, green, red, brown and pink.
Marble flooring tiles are differentiated with respect to their looks and polish too. Glazed or polished marbles have a coating on them and they are resistant to stains. The shine is retained by them much more easily which makes them good for a hard surface.
Unglazed tiles used for marble flooring in India do not have a very scratch resistant surface and that is why it becomes necessary to apply wax or seal on them in order to protect them.
Tumble marble stones sport an antique look which appears very elegant on the floor. The process involves placing them in a sand bins to be tossed around. It is resistant to skidding and has a soft and round structure.
Different marble tiles are offered in various sizes like 12 by 12 in inches for large scale areas or even mosaic marble tiles for making grids of tiles.
Marble flooring in India is done by several marble types and polished marble is one which has unique natural beauty. The bright and clean appearance look has great aesthetic appeal unlike unglazed marbles. These are used more for those areas which need strain-resistance and resistance to wear and tear.
Tumbled marble brings an authentic antique look to your flooring or any other construction work.
There are also drawbacks of each type of marble. Polished marble is expensive and tends to be slippery. Honed marble does not allow the natural color and patterns within the marble. Any type of marble is bound to have its drawbacks. Polished marble is expensive and slippery while honed marble is too hard to allow for natural colors and patterns. Marble tile flooring in India needs the marble stones to be decorative too and that is possible only if it gets decorated with hues of many patterns.

Polishing (Metalworking) $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Polishing and buffing are finishing processes for smoothing a workpieces surface using an abrasive and a work wheel. Technically polishing refers to processes that use an abrasive that is glued to the work wheel, while buffing uses a loose abrasive applied to the work wheel. Polishing is a more aggressive process while buffing is less harsh, which leads to a smoother, brighter finish. A common misconception is that a polished surface has a mirror bright finish, however most mirror bright finishes are actually buffed. Polishing is often used to enhance the looks of an item, prevent contamination of medical instruments, remove oxidation, create a reflective surface, or prevent corrosion in pipes. In metallography and metallurgy, polishing is used to create a flat, defectfree surface for examination of a metals microstructure under a microscope. Siliconbased polishing pads or a diamond solution can be used in the polishing process.
