A backhoe is a very versatile machine because it has a wheel loader on the front end an excavator on the back end. Because of these two machines that are combined into one, you can do much more with one machine. A backhoe loader is bigger in size than a skid steer and can thus do more production during a day than a skid steer. If you need to dig trenches during any of your jobs then you may want to really think about purchasing a back hoe.

Also, if you will have consistently large amount of materials to move with a loader then this is also when this machine will out perform a skid steer. One thing that needs to be noted is that this machine sits much higher than a skid loader. You will have better visibility moving materials around and it also is a machine that will go up to twenty miler per hour which is almost twice as fast as a skid machine.

There are some benefits to using a skid machine versus a backhoe. The first and probably most obvious is the size of the machine. This machine is much smaller and compact, which can bring a lot of benefits. One of the greatest benefits is its transportability. This machine is light enough that it will fit on smaller trailers and is much easier to chain down and move from job site to job site. Because of the weight of this machine you will also be able to move it around town without a special drivers license. Another benefit to this machine is that there are many work tools that can be added to the front of the machine which gives it great versatility, much more so than a backhoe.
