In the winter, the house may not be warm enough to sustain the needed amount of heat to keep the PEX pipes moving. There are temperatures with which the water in the drainage system will start to freeze. This will obviously cause some form of clogging that damages the PEX pipes. With such processes taking place, the drainage and the heating of any water to warm the house will be rendered impossible. Therefore, it is necessary to know how to avoid such occurrences.

Some of the preventive measures include the following;

1. Whenever are away from the house, make sure that the main water supply is turned off. The amount of water that is stagnant in the PEX pipes can cause a clog if it stays like so for a long time.

2. Make sure that the bathroom storage doors and the cabinet doors are open. Relocation of some chemicals put in these closets since they pose a danger to the children in the house is mandatory.

3. Trickles prevent water from freezing. It will therefore, be wise to leave the taps in your house just trickling. The little water movement in the water will disable any water from the freezing quite rapidly. The technicalities in explaining this involve the fact that water in motion has a certain amount of energy that makes the water temperatures remain at above sea level.

4. Make sure that to do a random check of the whole water system in the extreme weather condition.
