Toy Story 3 Trailer - A Sneak Peek!

In their usual style, the colorful players at Pixar films elate children all over giving outstanding added bonuses, including their usual little animated introduction to set the mood.  You don't get to see this in the Toy Story 3 trailer though.  This time, Toy Story 3 begins with a 5 minute animated film about day and night.  The two characters confront each other and by means of mime learn to receive their variances and that they are both as eminent as each other.

This little cartoon really gets the tone buzzing for the run up to the complete Toy Story 3 film.  Getting us prepared to reunite with our old acquaintances, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Mr & Mrs Potato Head, Slinky Dog and the rest of the group.

Pixar have affirmed the worth of keeping sequels as familiar as possible and for that reason have kept Woody's character (played by Tom Hanks) the same.  They have made the same with Buzz Lightyear who is still being played by Tim Allen and who is still acutely in denial that he is just a gadget.

The Toy Story 3 trailer is an exceptional conclusion to the trilogy.  Tugging on the heart strings as the toys dread abandonment and loss of love.  This time the film is set when Andy is now 17 years old and is going to college.  He's outgrown his toys but they haven't grown out of him and as the days count down their aspirations for being played with one very last time start to get dashed.

The audience travels on an emotional rollercoaster as they see the tension the toys go through watching Molly throw away her toys into the black waste bag or the donation box that's heading for the Sunnyside Daycare Center.  When it is their time there is a flash of relief as they see Andy opening the door to the attic, raising hopes that they will be put away and saved until one day, maybe Andy will have kids of his own who will have fun with them once again.

A misunderstanding causes Andy's mom to gather up the refuse bag and the toys, apart from Woody become aware of themselves out on the road awaiting the fast approaching refuse truck.  Woody watches in horror but is relieved to find that his associates have been able to get away, but the harm has been done.  The other toys are convinced that Andy doesn't feel affection for them any longer and the best alternative would be to hop within the donations box and go for Sunnyside Daycare Center where they may be played with by some new caring infants.

Best laid plans - the daycare center is a long way away from loving children and is ruled by a toy called Lutso who is harbouring a huge grudge for being thrown out by his former owner.  He lays down the law that all new toys have to go to the Caterpillar room and then, if they last the rough handling they can have the benefit of the more relaxing and soft location of the Butterfly room.

Buzz Lightyear in dutiful style disagrees and is turned upon and imprisoned beside with Barbies new found darling, Ken.

Woody, who at first didn't go to the daycare center discovers of his friends pending end and decides that he must turn up to their aid so away he goes on a mission and is rescued himself by a little girl who takes him home to play with him in her imaginative role play.  Whilst Woody isn't sad, he yearns for Andy's bedroom and collaborates with the little girl's toys to assemble new friends and develop his rescue lineup.

Pixar have definitely pulled out all the stops with Toy Story 3 and have demonstrated that animations can envoke powerful feelings in the viewers.  There will be many a tear and a lump in the viewers throats in this insightful and emotion provoking motion picture about the importance of family, faithfulness and affection.

And, if the film doesn't fetch a tear to your eye then the end credits will.  Pixar have put together a tribute to the staff at Pixar who became parents during the production of the movie.  All in all, 72 little ones were born and they have been immortalised at the finale.  You will unquestionably depart the film feeling warmhearted and emotional.
