Mastercool Refrigeration Tools – World Class Quality

After working for years in the HVAC trade, now is the best time to be in the industry as far as having the best refrigeration tools. If you are like me you have probably beat on your knuckles a few times swaging copper tubing to save fifty or seventy five cents on extra copper couplings. Also remember the times that you have spent several dollars to buy a copper long radius elbow, silver solder and welding gasses to make a 90 degree turn in the tubing before it goes into the unit. Not to mention the oxidation flakes left inside the tubing unless you spend more money by purging nitrogen through the lines while you are brazing them. Now you can spend money one time on a tool that will save your money for years to come.

The Mastercool 70070 ratchet style tube bender kit will put a tight bend in 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, and 7/8 O.D. soft copper tubing. This kit also comes with a heavy duty tubing cutter that cuts 1/8 to 1 1/8 O.D. tubing. This tool will actually pay for itself quickly if you shop around for a good price. I found the price on  Mastercool 70070 at www.amazon.com was $126.49, www.ebay.com had a price of $129.99 and www.completeairsupply.com sold it for $119.99. If you figure a copper long radius elbow, silver solder and welding gas at 3 or 4 dollars per fitting this tool could pay for itself in a manner of months.

Another tool that I have used and really like is the Mastercool 71600 Hydra-Swage tube tool kit to 1 1/8 inch. This one is good for most residential and small commercial jobs. They also make one that swages up to 2 1/8 inch copper, the Mastercool 71650 . I have never used the larger one but the 71600 is a very handy tool. You save money because you no longer buy copper couplings and only silver solder one seam per fitting instead of two with a coupling. As a caution, I found that when swaging the 3/8 copper it would sometimes split if I were not careful. That being said, I really liked the swaging tool. Be careful when buying the Mastercool Swaging tools. When shopping for the 71600 model, I found them as high as $544.42 at www.mdappliance.com and $455.20 at www.finditparts.com, and as cheap as $318.99 at www.amazon.com and the lowest I found was completeairsupply.com at $289.99. That is a price difference of over $250 on the very same brand and tool model.
