So, You Wanna Wear Black Nail Polish!

Do you recall when Chanel was selling their "Chanel's Le Vermis colour in Black Satin- Chanel's - 219. It was being promoted during the summer of 2006.   It was basically sold out and brought at a price of $100 or more per  bottle.

The trend has steadily increased with more and more classic and sophisicated women adorning their fashion statement with Black Nail Polish.  Since the emergence of Chanel -219, we are all able to purchase Black Nail polish from consumer buyers for as low as 99 cents  a bottle: such as - Wet N'Wild-Black Creme, Opi Classsic - price ranges between $8-$12 Dollars, China Glaze Nail polish-approximately - $5.99 and Black Diamond - just to name a few.

It is no doubt that sporting Black Nail Polish will make a statement - a bold one at that!  However, if worn appropriately, you can send out a very unique and trendy statement about your choice of style.

A short note on the history of Black Nail Polish

Black Nail polish has not always been associated with the agenda of anti-establishment or those rebelling against a cause; in fact, it was highly associated in the past with royalty and one who had a lavish lifestyle. 

In China, it was used as a method to determine social rankings; the common people enjoyed such shades as pink while royalty used red and black.

We are seeing more and more of this trend on the catwalks, fashion magazine, celebrities, as well as everyday people. Jada was just featured in the Essence Magazine for July -2010-sporting a very sophisicated look with her Black Nail Polish - she looks absolutely gorgeous!  If that wasn't a big enough motivation for me to put the magazine down and go out and purchase a bottle of Black Nail polish; other celebrities such as:  Gwen Stafani, Jessica Alba, Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan are just a few to grace the fashion scene sporting their Black Nail Polish.

When wearing Black Nail Polish - you must think about the look you are trying to achieve. 

Do not wear ALL black as this will send across the very message you are trying to avoid (anti-establishment).

Keep the jewelry wearing very simple
